Joanne Morgan Gamble, 80, a resident of Gulf Breeze, Florida died Wednesday, February 2, 2022. A service will be held at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church on Sunday at 3pm CST, with visitation starting at 2pm. An informal reception will be held at one of Joanne's favorite places, Flounders Chowder House, immediately after the service. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 7th at 1pm CST, Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, Alabama.
Joanne was a lifelong and dedicated healthcare professional, first as a registered nurse, and then as a hospital administrator. She loved the hasty pace of the day-to-day hospital. She graduated from St. Bernard College, and furthered her studies at St. Vincent and Troy State. While she finished her master’s degree at University of Alabama, Birmingham in nursing administration, she was a lifelong Auburn fan, and like her mother, loved college football. She was an excellent cook, a stickler who loved to entertain, and maintained a quiet faith in Christ her entire life. Her legacy as a leader, devoted friend and loving mother and grandmother shall never be forgotten.
Survivors include two children, David Vincent Gamble/Jennifer, Northport, AL, Michael Eric Gamble/Lee Ann, Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Mary Morgan Smith/Adam and Judith Anderson Gamble, sister Marilyn Morgan Bloom/Richard, Pebble Beach, CA, and niece Laura Karnesky/Morgan, Vallejo, CA. Her husband, Fred Lee Gamble, preceded her in death.
Joanne, David and Mike are especially appreciative of her oak pointe neighbors, the Pensacola Master Gardeners, various quilting clubs and her Sunday school class.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gulf breeze United Methodist Church, "Joanne's Sunday School Class". We celebrate her life and entry into heaven.
