Joan "Jody" Jaschke

Joan (Jody) Meinz Jaschke, age 94, of Gulf Breeze, passed away in her sleep on December 1, 2021. She was born on September 30, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Frederick and Clara (Beaudean) Meinz. She was the youngest of 9 children and was very close with her siblings and her many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Central High School in Cape Girardeau in 1945.

In 1952, Jody married her husband, Henry (Hank) Jaschke. She became a homemaker and mother to two daughters. They lived in both Memphis, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia, until finally moving to Gulf Breeze, Florida in 1971. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze. Jody was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and love of family.

Jody was preceded in death by her parents and 8 siblings, as well as her husband of 62 years, Henry Jaschke.

Survivors include her two daughters, Janis Jaschke Denney (Greg) and Maria Jaschke Harvey (Jim); 3 grandchildren, Curtis Denney, Rachel Church (Seth), and Brandon Harvey; and great-granddaughter, Sylvia Church.

A visitation will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze on Saturday, December 11th from 10-11:00am with the service following at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
