Joan Rehn Wilhelm 1932 - 2010 Mrs. Joan Rehn Wilhelm, formerly of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010 in Gulf Breeze, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Wilhelm, daughter Raynn Wilhelm, parents, Henry and Katherine Rehn and sister Jane Rehn Doolittle. She is survived by her daughter Sheryse Wilhelm of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Paul and Joyce Wilhelm, Jean Kerr, Steve and Rosietha Wilhelm, Arthur and Sandy Wilhelm and Lynn Schwartz from Ohio. Born to Katherine and Henry Rehn on July 30, 1932, Joan was raised in Cincinnati and a graduate of Withrow High School. She later went on to attend the University of Cincinnati where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. A lover of music with a beautiful voice, she sang in a band when not working for the Cincinnati Times Star. It was during this time that she met a dashing Naval Pilot named Walter Wilhelm, whom she later married in 1953 and had two children. A lover of the outdoors, she excelled in tennis as well as enjoyed boating and fishing, going so far as to just miss receiving recognition for catching the largest barracuda on record in the women's category. During her marriage she also was an entrepreneur who owned and operated two coin laundromats. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation for the compassionate care provided by her doctors, but most especially, Covenant Hospice of Pensacola. Mrs. Wilhelm died peacefully at home with her daughter at her side.
