Jo Ann Bush, 82, of Gulf Breeze, Florida went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2017.
She was born April 29, 1935 in Rutledge, Tennessee to Robert and Helen Fay Hipsher. She was married to Gestle C. Bush, Jr. in Knoxville, Tennessee on July 29, 1955. She was a proud Naval wife that worked hard at home and as a sailmaker. After her husband's death in 1978, she went back to school and was licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She lovingly comforted and cared for residents at nursing homes for eighteen years in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Knoxville, Tennessee. She was compassionate and well respected amongst her peers for the care that she provided to those who could no longer care for themselves. She moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida to retire and recover from breast cancer.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Burke and son-in-law, Les Burke of Gulf Breeze, FL, Granddaughter, Crystal Burke Conway and her husband, John Michael Conway of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Grandson, David Allan Burke of Gulf Breeze, FL. Great Grandsons, Gabriel Michael Conway and Joshua Robert Conway of Bossier City, Louisiana and Brother, James Hipsher and his wife, Polly Hipsher of Corryton, Tennessee and Sister in Law, Nadine Hipsher of Rutledge, Tennessee along with many nephews and nieces, Theo and Winkie Buttrum, friends of fifty years.
She was predeceased in death by husband, Gestle Conley Bush, Jr, her son, Gary L. Bush, parents Robert Lee Hipsher and Helen Fay Hipsher and brother, Ross Hipsher.
Funeral Services will be provided by Rose Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery on Thursday, June 8 at 2942 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563 and officiated by Scott Veroneau of Community Life United Methodist Church. Visitation at 10:00 AM and Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 12th along with a graveside service at 11:00 AM.
The family would like to thank the staff of Baybreeze Nursing Home, Watermark Assisted Living Facility and Covenant Care for the loving care of Jo Ann and her family during this very difficult time.
