Jimmie Ross Lawson Korndorffer, a long-time resident of Gulf Breeze, FL, died peacefully in her home the 13th of June surrounded by family. Born on November 17, 1932 in Raleigh, MS, Jimmie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Ross Lawson, graduated as the valedictorian of Raleigh High School at the age of 15. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. at the age of 19, where she was a member of Epsilon Gamma Epsilon, Phi Gamma Nu, Phi Theta Kappa, Honorary fraternities, and Kappa Delta, social sorority. As in Mississippi she was not yet an adult at the age of 19, Jimmie had her minority removed in order to work as a court reporter at the Mississippi State Supreme Court after graduation. Beyond that, her primary occupation was keeping her husband of 61 years, James R. Korndorffer, out of trouble, though she did not always succeed. Jimmie was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze and a Lady Grand Cross of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. She is survived by her husband James R. Korndorffer, her three loving children, Linda Williams, Pam Palthazar, and James R. Korndorffer Jr., and their spouses, along with six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. It desired, memorial gifts may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in lieu of flowers. A visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, on Monday, June 15th with Rosary at 10:30 followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. A reception will at the church will follow the Funeral Mass. The internment will be in Natchez, MS on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
