Lt. Colonel Jesse Brown 1921 - 2010 Jesse Brown, 89, of Navarre, FL, passed away on Good Friday, April 2, 2010. jesse was born March 22, 1921 in Atlanta, GA. He retired from the FAA and moved to the Gulf Breeze and Navarre area in 1974. He was a resident of The Blake Retirement Center in Gulf Breeze where he was deeply loved by the staff and Friends of the The Blake. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marion Brown; his sister, Inez Tillison and his parents. He is survived by his son, Arnold Brown,daughter in law Kim; three grandchildren, Candace and Doug Davis and Jessica Joyner; two great granchildren, Gage and Avery Davis; and his puppy Taz; his brother Erman Brown of Peachtree City, GA; two nephews, Bill and robert Brown; niece, Shirley Brown. He is also survived by four surviving crew members of his last plane, The Leading Lady. He was a member of the United States Air Force during WWII. He flew 19 successful missions as a B17 pilot until he was shot down over Germany. He was held as a Prisoner of War (POW) in Germany until freed by General Patton's forces. He retired from the Air Force Reserves on March 22, 1981. He was a proud member of the Quiet Birdmans (QB's). He was a member of the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. A private service will be held with immediate family members.
