Jeannine Mckibbins

April 1, 1934 — January 4, 2010

Jeannine Louise KcKibbins 1934 - 2010 Jeannine Louise McKibbins, 75, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010. Jeannine was born in Milwaukee, WI on April 1, 1934. She was both an "April Fool" baby and an Easter Sunday blessed child. Her mother, Mildred, taught music classes in the local schools and her father, Joseph, was a respected dentist. The family also included two older brothers, Jack and Fay, and a younger brother, David. She attended the Wisconsin State Teachers College for one year as a music major. On August 15, 1953 she married Samuel McKibbins and began loving relationship that lasted 56 years. For the first several years she worked as a secretary helping put Sam through school. With that accomplished they began a family which included a son, Paul, a daughter, Karen, and another son, Andrew. As job opportunities presented themselves, the family lived in several states. Their previous home in Westport, CT, where they lived for 27 years, holds many fond memories. Paul Newman lived a short distance away and Jean enjoyed telling the story of the time she caught his dog in her yard and returned it to his home. Unfortunately "Blue Eyes" wasn't home at the time. The family finally settled in Gulf Breeze, FL. In time the children grew, married and presented Jean with five grandchilren who were a true and loving delight in her life. There is Sandra, Kristina, Samuel, Craig and Dylan. When Sandra, the first grandchild, was very young, she heard a concerned sigh from Jean. From that moment on, Jean became known as "Oh Dear", a name subsequently adopted by all the grandchildren. In addition to the family, Jean ejoyed playing the piano, needlework of all kinds and playing bridge. She is survived by her loving husband, three children, five grandchildren and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Convenant Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Rose Lawn Fuenral Home of Gulf Breeze.
