Gulf Breeze

James (Jim) J. Kendall of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away January 22, 2023 at the age of 84. He was born April 18, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio to Ira Thoburn (Joe) and Rachel Mary Kendall.

Jim graduated from Columbus Grove Ohio High School in 1956 and earned a B.S. in Chemistry from The Ohio State University in 1971.  On August 28, 1960, he married Karolyn Kay Heyman, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage before her death in 2016. Their daughter, Colonel Kristin Brawley, United States Air Force, retired, was the pride of their lives.

After working for Vistron Chemicals in Lima, Ohio, and American Cyanamid in New Orleans, Louisiana, he took the knowledge and experience gained at petrol chemical companies and became a sales representative for Vallen Safety Supply, thoroughly enjoying his work with clients while helping them find products meeting their needs.

Jim's favorite past times were playing golf with friends, hosting 4:00 Happy Hour with friends and neighbors, reading, and soaking up the warm Florida sunshine.  He had a welcoming smile and was always quick with a joke or funny story.

In addition to Kristi, Jim is survived by his treasured son-in-law Rob Brawley, cherished granddaughter Kate Brawley, sister Mary Margaret McCleary and brother William G. (Sam) Kendall.  In addition to his beloved wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Michael Kendall.  The joy he brought will be greatly missed by his entire circle of family and friends.
