James Joseph McCarthy, beloved father, father-in-law, and grandfather, formerly of Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday , February 7, 2014 at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, TN. Jim lived a very full and fruitful 85 years and was loved and respected by all who knew him. Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Joy, and their son Michael. Jim is survived by his daughter Jill Bolden, son-in-law Mario Bolden and three grandchildren. Jim and Joy were thrilled to own and operate ChemRep, Inc., for 20 years in Chicago, IL, until they retired to Florida. After Joy's death, Jim moved to Memphis, TN to spend more time with his daughter and her family. Jim will forever be sorely missed by his friends and family. A memorial service will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Methodist Hospice Residence, 6416 Quince Rd., Memphis, TN 38119, Ph: 901-818-2100. Jim will be laid to rest next to his wife and son in Gulf Breeze, FL at a later date. Flowers will be accepted and appreciated by the family, or donations can be made towards a plaque to be placed in Jim's name at Methodist Hospice Residence.
