James Scott Greene, III Scott Greene was born June 20, 1941 in San Antonio Texas. In 1963, he graduated with an Economics degree from Purdue University, where he met his wife, Jane. The two married in September of 1963, and lived for three years in Germany, where Scott served as an officer in the 12th Armored Cavalry. From there, he was sent to Fort Polk, Louisiana, where he served as a company commander, preparing soldiers for duty in Vietnam. In 1967-68, he served his final tour of duty in Vietnam, as an advisor to the South Vietamese Army. On returning home, Scott earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration at LSU in Baton Rouge. He subsequently worked for several years in New Orleans as an oil and gas accountant and auditor, before becoming an independent consultant to joint venture oil and gas projects all over the world. His working experiences in Europe, South America, Canada, and the United States fed his love for travel. After living for thirty years in New Orleans, Scott and his wife Jane moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida, where they enjoyed traveling in their retirement. Scott is survived by his wife, Jane; a daughter, Jennifer; a son, Scott; three grandchildren; two sisters: Anne Miles and Kim Greene of Virginia, and many friends around the world. The family will host a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Scott’s name to the Saint Jude Community Center, 400 N. Rampart St., New Orleans, LA 70122.
