James Finch

September 17, 1939 — December 3, 2011

James Bryan (Jim) Finch, beloved husband and father, died on December 3, 2011 after a short illness. Jim was a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in Birmingham and later graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Building Construction. Jim was an avid sports fan and had a special love of music and golf. In fact, he would always plan his vacations around his children and the best golf courses he could find. He also took great pride in supporting the Auburn Tigers football team and players. He was founder and owner of Finch Construction Systems and was always supported by his long time employee; Donna Weeks. He was a member of the Association of General Construction, Pensacola Country Club, National Guard, Sigma Nu Fraternity, and Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. He is survived by his beautiful wife; Louise, his two adoring children; Angie and Bryan, and his many devoted friends, especially his golf buddy; Richard Colby. Funeral services will be at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 1:30 pm with Reverend Jack Kale officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 until 1:30 pm prior to the service. Friends may gather after the service at the Finch home. The family would like to thank the many friends and the wonderful golf buddies who have been so supportive of them with their prayers and blessings during this time. Friends may also make memorial donations to Smile Train at www.smiletrain.com, an international children's charity that provides cleft palate surgery for children in need.
