Jacqueline "Jackie" Toomer

Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann Toomer, 93, of Pensacola passed from this life to her eternal rest on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024. 

Jackie was born on October 6, 1931, and grew up outside of Brawley California. The daughter of the late Anthony and Odelia Hovley. Jackie was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Garland Toomer, brother Allen Hovley, sisters Barbara Etcheberry and Linda Hanson, sons Spencer and Gregory Toomer and son-in-law Jonathan Denny.  

Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons Michael (Alisha) Toomer and Curtis (Michele) Toomer, daughters Gayle (Anthony) Valdavia, Lorry Toomer, Robin Toomer, Sandra (Gordon) Lawry; sister Karen Wilcox, brothers Jerry Hovley and Marvin Hovley and numerous extended family and friends. 

Jackie was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who loved her family dearly. After high school, she graduated from Mercy Teaching Hospital in San Diego as a Registered Nurse (RN). 

Jackie will be remembered as one of God’s angels here on earth and her memory will be treasured by all those who knew and loved her. 

Memorial services will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Pensacola on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, at 10:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Parish Hall.
