Jack Terry Green, age 67, left this earth on Wednesday, January 12, 2012. Jack was an avid fisherman who loved to write songs, sing and play guitar to entertain his loved ones. Jack was a wonderful loving Husband, Dad, Grandfather, and Brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jack was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee and relocated to the Florida Panhandle in 1976 where he later retired from the Escambia County School Board in 2006. Jack was proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1964-1968. Jack served two tours of duty in Vietnam where he received several distinguished awards, including a Purple Heart. Jack is preceded in death by his loving parents, Russell B. Green and Roxie M. (Ensley) Green, also by his three brothers and three sisters. Jack is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Jackie, Tim and Robin (Jory) Contreras; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Whittney) Madden, Stephanie and Justice, all of Gulf Breeze; sister, Joyce (Ronnie) Crane; brother, Danny Green, both of Chattanooga, TN, along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack will be laid to rest with full military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery on Tuesday January 17, 2012 at 11:30 am.
