Jack Donald Forest May 10, 1927 - June 2, 2010 Pastor Jack was born in Oklahoma, raised in Omaha, Nebraska, graduated with two degrees from Chicago Theological Seminary and received his Doctor of Ministry in 1983 in St. Louis, Missouri. Jack joined the military in 1944 (World War II), then reserves and Korean War and honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in the U. S. Marine Corps. (13 years) Jack is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol, and children, Eleanor, Aimee, Jack, David, Julie, Terrie, Debbie and Christopher and 21 grandchildren. Jack proudly served the Pensacola Beach U.C.C. Church as pastor from 1984 - 1994 where he retired. He served as Charter Volunteer Chaplain of the Gulf Breeze Hospital until his recent illness, also as Board Member of the Pensacola Beach Volunteer Fire Department and Chaplain. He became known as the Pastor of the Beach until his retirement. He enjoyed memberships in the Shriner's, Optimist's, Eagles and Odd Fellows in St. Louis and VFW, American Legion, Elks, Masons, and Scottish Rite 330 in the Pensacola area. He wrote and sang songs and entertained with his guitar at many nursing homes. His favorite hobby was flying and teaching student pilots and fishing on the beach. Private burial was held at Barrancas National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on June 13 following morning worship at Pensacola Beach Church, located at Via DeLuna and Avenida 18, at 11:30am. All are welcome.
