Jack Lee Cook, of Gulf Breeze, FL, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, March 6, 2023. He left our world surrounded by his wife, four children and all his precious grandkids.
Born on March 14, 1956, in Bedford, Indiana, Jack lived his life for his family. He spent his early years in Indiana before moving to Florida to play baseball at the University of Florida from 1977-1978. Jack then moved back home to attend Indiana State University where he would meet his wife, Janis. Starting a family and a new career, Jack and Janis would relocate to the Atlanta, Georgia area before ultimately settling in Gulf Breeze, Florida. This is where he would spend most of his life as an esteemed Pharmaceutical Representative. The rest of his time was devoted to his family, as they enjoyed hobbies such as traveling, camping, and attending Gator football games. Eventually, Jack became “Papaw” to 10 adoring grandchildren, and he spent the rest of his life spoiling and loving every single one of them. He will be remembered as a kind soul, who was greatly loved by all who knew him, and he was known to help anyone who needed it.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Jack W. Cook and Melba JoAnn Carrico Cook of Worthington, IN; his nephew, Clinton McIntosh of Bloomfield, IN, and many beloved Aunts and Uncles.
He is survived by his immediate family, all of Gulf Breeze, FL- his wife, Janis Cook; his daughter, Elisha Frock; his son, Jonathan Cook (Jasmine); his daughter, Lindsay Hanna (Dave); and his son, Justin Cook; also by his cherished grandkids, C.B. Frock, Bodie Leach, Emilie Frock, Jackson Cook, Remy Leach, Lyla Frock, Lincoln Cook, Scarlett Cook, and twins Herschel and Emersyn Hanna. He is also survived by his sister, Jana McIntosh (Greg) of Bloomfield, IN; his brother, John Cook (Pam) of Gosport, IN; his Aunts and Uncles, as well as sisters- and brother-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held for Jack on Saturday, March 18th at Coastline Calvary Chapel in Gulf Breeze, FL. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and the service will begin at 2:30 pm. Pastor John Spencer will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinson.org or The Rock Steady Boxing Foundation at falbosfamilykarate.com. It would be a fulfilled dream of Jack’s to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease.
