Ida Sharon Yolonde Marsh Starkis, age 77, of Mary Esther, entered into the Gates of Glory on June 7, 2020, after an extended battle with COPD which she fought with courage and determination. She was born on February 04, 1943, in Portland, Oregon, to the late William DeWitt and Mary Glen Marsh.
Sharon was a devoted wife to Pete Starkis, a loving mother to her sons, and a devoted grandmother, a doting great grandmother, a caring Aunt, and a good friend to many.
Sharon had a deep love of God, a belief in Jesus Christ, and talked about her strong faith and devotion to God's Word. Her faith's journey began as a young child and followed her throughout her life. She attended the Mary Esther Church of God for many years where she served through her giving and using her extraordinary talent to sew in the prayer blanket ministry.
Sharon was born to Mary Marsh and William Marsh and raised in Portland Oregon. The youngest of four daughters.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, her adoring husband, Pete Starkis, her siblings Dixie Rogers, Roween Adams, and Beverly Pickard.
Sharon and her husband Pete were truly an authentic couple. They had many friends from all over. They lived a military life that took them to several countries, and they traveled extensively throughout their life before retiring in the Mary Esther Florida area in the 1990s.
Sharon was a genuine person. She was true to her beliefs and values and spoke her mind. You could count on her to tell you as she saw it. She will be missed by her family and her many friends, but she leaves behind a legacy of how to never give up, to live life to its fullest, and to always stay busy even in the face of adversity.
Sharon is survived by her two sons Scot Jackson (Michelle), Bill Jackson (Patty), Grandson, Andrew Jackson, Granddaughters Becka Simmons (Chris), Jennifer Jackson (Josh), Great-grandchildren Lexi, Jace, Isaiah, and Luke, and 12 nieces and nephews.
