Humberto Ramos 1923 - 2010 Humberto("Toto") Ramos, resident of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed into eternity peacefully Saturday, April 3rd in the loving arms of his devoted caregiver and wife of 16 years, Judy Ramos. He was 87 years old. Born in Laredo, Texas, Toto was one of eight children born to Alonzo and Maria Ramos. As a youth, Toto worked on his father's large ranch located in Mexico where his knowledge, deep love and appreciation for horses and livestock grew, eventually leading him to become a representative for the U.S. Department of Agriculture serving in Mexico City later in his life. Humberto was called to duty and served our country most honorably and bravely in the Navy during World War II. He saw battle in the Philippines and elsewhere, experiencing first-hand the wages of war. He continued his commitment to service for our country and finished his working career retiring after 24 years as a Civil Servant at Pensacola, NAS. There, he thoroughly enjoyed a career refurbishing and reconditioning aircraft. Toto's greatest personal enjoyment was derived from the arts. He was an avid fan of music (both contemporary and classic), as well as the art of dance. He enjoyed reading poetry, studying philosophy and was an avid reader until his later years. He was a self taught man - a man of both industry and the arts. Humberto is lovingly survived by many family and friends. They include his beloved wife, Judy Ramos of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and two sisters, Amparo Pena (his twin) and Carmen Pitone, both of Laredo, Texas. Also survived are his children: son George and wife Lisette Ramos, of Pensacola, FL; daughter Lorraine and husband Pat Kelly, Cincinnati, OH; sons Mark, William and Richard Ramos, Pensacola, FL. His grandchildren are: Angela and John Chapa of Pensacola, FL; Zachary and Aiko Smith, Kristen and Cyrus Kelly all of Cincinnati, OH; Marea-Lynn and Aris Thompson, Kira-Lyn and Benjamin Chong, and Mark Ramos, Pensacola, FL. His great grandchildren are Kobe, Aiden and Julina Chapa, Jada-lynn, Ava-lynn, Elijah Thompson, and Malaya Chong. ROSE LAWN Funeral Home of Gulf Breeze is entrusted with arrangements.
