Howard Paul Shauver, Lieu Col Retired of the United States airforce, died on August 3, 2020, in Gulf Breeze Florida. Howard was born on August 11, 1931, in Salamonia, Jay County, Indiana to Ezra D. and Hazel A (Kimble) Shauver. He was the eighth of their ten children. He graduated from Madison Twp. High School, Jay County, Indiana in 1949. Howard joined the Air Force the following year where he was selected for OTC. He married Betty Ann Edwards, on 18-Jul-1952, in Waco, Texas. After he retired from the Air Force, the family made their home in Gulf Breeze, Florida. In his retirement, he purchased vacation homes. He did all of the maintenance on these condos using the skills which came naturally to him and his brothers.
Howard is survived by his grandson, Ryan B Nash, of Jacksonville, Florida, and two great-granddaughters. He is also survived by two sisters, Ramona J. Shauver Lee of Anderson, Indiana, and Gloria A Shauver Pfiefer of Salamonia, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Ann, in 1973, his daughters Belinda Carol “BC” Shauver 2019, Teresa Kay “Katy” Shauver, 2000, and son, Mark Edward Shauver, 2020. his parents Ezra and Hazel Shauver, and brothers, Marion E. Shauver, Harold M. “Buss” Shauver, James R Shauver, and Richard Lee Shauver, and sisters, Geraldine M. Shauver Strock, Maxine M Shauver, and Madonna J. Shauver Betz.
Memorials in his honor may be sent to Wounded Warriors or The Honor Flight.
