Henry Arthur Willett Jr. passed on peacefully at his home in Gulf Breeze on the 1st of March, 2018. He was born in Albany Ga. on August 20th, 1936, and upon graduating Newnan High School moved to Century, FL. to attend Pensacola Junior College. He married Glenda Worley in 1956 and moved to Pensacola to start his family. After graduating from the University of West Florida, he began working at Pensacola Loan and Savings Bank while continuing his banking education at the University of Colorado. After some time as Vice-President of Pensacola Loan and Savings Bank, he ventured out into the business world as co-owner of Enzor-Willett Insurance Co., Enlett Investment Co., and EscaRosa Properties.
After and during his banking career, he had several business interests and was very active in local community and civic organizations. His passion was always God and his family. He served as pastor and interim-pastor for many Baptist churches in the area and completed his Doctorate of Theology at Andersonville Baptist Seminary. He also loved sports and umpired softball for many years with the City of Pensacola, Corry Station, and The Gulf Breeze Sports Association. He always greeted everyone with a smile and a handshake.
Henry is preceded in passing by his father Henry Willett, Sr., his mother Floys Willett, his brother Stanley Willett, his sisters Pam Daniels and Ann Strickland, and his beloved Aunt and Uncle Eula Mae and O.P. Renfroe of Century, FL.
His life is celebrated by his wife of 62 years, Glenda Willett, son Mike Willett, daughters Cindy Lynch (Ray) and Susie Smithey (Walt), grand-daughters Amanda Lynch-Elliott (Mark), Rebecca Lynch Hancock (Andrew) and Ray Lynch III.
Services will be held on Monday, March 5th, at the First Baptist Church of Gulf Breeze, FL. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A private graveside service for the family will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Atmore, AL at Oak Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Spooneybarger officiating.
Pallbearers are Dalton Renfroe, Ray Lynch, Ray Lynch III, Buddy Connolly, Mark Elliott, and Andrew Hancock. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Davis, Al Davis, Terry Lewis, Jim Skaggs, David White, and Ernest Murphy.
