Henry Wilson Jaschke, age 91, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed peacefully in his sleep on December 13, 2015. He was born on October 3, 1924 in Beckemeyer, Illinois, to George and Laura (Fehring) Jaschke. At the age of 3, he and his family moved to Toledo, Ohio. After graduating from Woodward High School, he served in the US Army for the duration of WWII. Upon returning to the US, he moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he volunteered at the Local VFW, Post 3838. This is where he met his future wife, Joan Meinz. After marriage, he made a career in sales with the Quaker Oats Company. In 1971, he moved his family to Gulf Breeze, Florida. He retired there after a career of 36 years. Proceeding him in death were his parents and siblings, Georgia Jaschke, Wilma Hinkamp, John Jaschke, and George Jaschke, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan Meinz Jaschke, two daughters, Janis Denney (Greg) and Maria Harvey (Jim), and 3 grandchildren, Curtis Foss Denney, Rachel Church (Seth) and Brandon Harvey. Visitation will be at Rose Lawn, Gulf Breeze, on Thursday, December 17, from 10:00-11:00 AM, with graveside rites following.
