Hans Sonntag

HANS HERMAN SONNTAG 1912 - 2010 Hans Sonntag, 98 years old, of Navarre, Florida passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010. He was born in Germany on March 9, 1912 to Lena and Ernst Sonntag. He came into the United States at Ellis Island in New York when he was 16 years old and got his first job as a bus boy. He worked as a machinist the majority of his life. He originally resided in Connecticut and moved to Inverness, Florida in 1971 where he lived until he retired and moved to Navarre, Florida where he resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Charles. He is preceded in death by his wife Eugenia Sonntag, parents Lena and Ernst Sonntag, sisters Elfreida Meinke, Elsie Kneisel and Margaret Wilson, brother Fritz Sonntag and daughter Johanna Garala. He is survived by his sisters Gertrude Sonntag and Charlotte Knapp, son and daughter-in-law Arthur and Sheila Sonntag, daughter and son-in-law Ernestine and Louis Hladick, son-in-law Daniel Garala, son and daughter-in-law Walter and Barbara Sonntag, and daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Charles Thompson, eight grandchildren, fourteen nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.
