H.P. Simmons of Gulf Breeze passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012. H.P. was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was proud of the many accomplishments of his grand children and great grand children. He loved golfing, hunting and fishing. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with over 25 years of service; retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sgt. During his military career he had various assignments in the United States and overseas duties in Germany, Vietnam, Korea and Japan. After his retirement from the Air Force he worked as Director of Environmental Services at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Joan; daughter Marilou (Larry); son Scott Van Dyke; son Trent Van Dyke (Marline); and son Mark Van Dyke (Amanda); and Grandchildren, Brandon Wilder, Jennifer Rushing (Nick), Kevin Van Dyke (Ashlee), Chase Van Dyke, Chandler Van Dyke, Fischer Van Dyke, Hayden Van Dyke, and Bella Sanchez; and Great- Grandchildren, Bella and Mason Rushing. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at West Florida Hospital and the Life Care Center of Pensacola for your support and loving care. Viewing will be held at the Rose Lawn Funeral Home from 10-11AM on Friday August 31st with a funeral service following at 11AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Ft. Walton Beach at 12:30 PM.
