Guy Eubank

May 30, 1921 — August 29, 2013

Guy Carlton Eubank Jr., born May 30, 1921 in Newport News, Virginia, received his eternal reward on August 29, 2013 surrounded by his four sons and many other loved ones. Guy was the second of three children; his childhood was marked with many acute illnesses and the stark austerity of the Great Depression. In spite of his illnesses he excelled in school, winning a prestigious award in science. His tenor galvanized by his personal hardships along with those of the time matured him into a bright hardworking young man. Guy enlisted in the Navy as a Fireman 3rd Class Electrician Striker in 1939 and served through World War II until his retirement as an Master Chief Petty Officer in 1959. Cerca 1950, Guy was calling Bingo at the Chiefs Club on Pensacola NAS when he met and fell in love with native Pensacolian Catherine Bonifay. They soon eloped to Pascagoula and began their life of love together, eventually retiring from the Navy, working at the Naval Air Rework Facility, settling in Gulf Breeze, and raising their four sons in the most amazing way. Guy, with his beloved Catherine who preceded him in June of 2012, left a legacy of love to his sister Jane Eubank Brown and her husband Allen, his four sons and their wives, Randy and DeLeene, GC and Debbie, Tom and Becky, Joe and Angie, his 17 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. To their children, Guy and Catherine were the perfect embodiment and complement of a fathers and mothers love, consistently modeling and instilling the great core values of faith, family, and responsibility. Very special thanks go to Sylvia McHenry, Kristen Dove for their years of loving care, and St. Sylvester Catholic church for attending to his sacramental life. A time of visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Navarre. Services will follow at 11:00 AM.
