Grover Booker

Grover C. Booker passed away peacefully on June 8, 2019.

Grover was born in Indian Ford, Florida to George C. and Ella B. Booker.  In 1935 his family moved to Pensacola, Florida where he resided the rest of his life.

Grover was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn of 49 years, his parents George C. and Ella B., a brother James C. (JC) and two sisters, Nell Kutzer and Joyce Talley.

He is survived by his children Linda Johnson Smith, Pensacola, FL; Buddy (Cindy), Zephryhills, FL; Ella (Cliff) Powell, Pensacola, FL; Patricia Short, Pensacola, FL; and Lamar of Ft. Meade, FL.  A sister Kitty Bently of Decatur, GA. Nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He served in the United States Army in WWII.  Upon returning home he worked for NAS Pensacola as a civilian. He retired in 1974 after 28 years.  He loved hunting, fishing and travelling. He and his wife travelled and enjoyed their retirement years.

Friends and family will gather at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze on Friday, June 21, 2019 and depart in procession at 1:00 PM in route to Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Florida.

Graveside Service and burial with military honors will take place at 2:00 PM at Barrancas National Cemetery.
