Geraldine Mcmullen

February 3, 1941 — September 27, 2008

Geraldine Ann McMullen, 67, passed away on September 27, 2008. She was born in Belfast Ireland, one of eleven children. In 1965, she left Ireland with her husband, Gerry, and their children. They lived briefly in Chapleau, Canada and then Memphis, Tennessee. In 1971, Geraldine and Gerry along with their four children found the lovely city of Gulf Breeze. She made this her home for the past 37 years. Mrs. McMullen was preceded in death in 2003 by her loving husband, Gerry of 41 years. Her parents, Charles and Anne Brennan of Belfast, Ireland as well as her sister, Deirdre Smith, of London, England and brother-in-laws, Jimmy O'Reilly and Liam Elliott of Belfast, Ireland also preceded her in death. To carry on her precious memory, Geraldine leaves behind her daughter and husband, Debra and Ryan Jenkins, grandsons Cole and Chase of Pace; daughter, Karen Abney, grandsons, Spencer and Stephan of Gulf Breeze, granddaughter, Sheena Turner and great-grandson, Sterling Turner of Salisbury, North Carolina; son and wife, Stephen and Stephanie McMullen, granddaughter, Kendall of Gulf Breeze; son and wife, Sean and Angel McMullen of Gulf Breeze. She also leaves behind many siblings; sister and husband, Maura and Buzz Buzbee of Gulf Breeze; sister and husband, Nuala and Tommy McAllister of Belfast, Ireland; sister and husband, Bronagh and Joseph Smyth of Belfast, Ireland; brother and wife, Jim and Audrey Brennan of Belfast, Ireland; sister, Shelia Elliott of Belfast, Ireland; sister, Una O'Reilly of Belfast, Ireland; sister and husband, Meave and Hugh Rice of Belfast, Ireland; brother and wife, Patrick and Theresa Brennan of Belfast, Ireland; brother and wife, Keiron and Theresa Brennan of Belfast, Ireland; and brother-in-law, Syd Smith of London, England. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, special friends and extended family members across two continents. Geraldine's love and nurturing of her family was her life's mission. She lead a servant life to all around her. Her Irish smile and laughter were contagious. Her grandchildren will miss her love and "Irish" wisdom. Geraldine was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Gulf Breeze. Rose Lawn Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday evening, October 1, 2008, from 5pm-7pm at Rose Lawn. Funeral Services and Mass will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at 10:00am at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 100 Daniel Drive, Gulf Breeze, Florida. The Funeral Procession will lead to Rose Lawn Cemetery at 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway for graveside services. To honor Geraldine's wishes, an Irish Wake and celebration of her life will follow the graveside services at Paddy O'Learys Irish Pub on Pensacola Beach. The family would like to thank the Gulf Breeze Police Department and Fire Departments of Gulf Breeze, Midway and Pensacola Beach. Special thanks to LifeGuard Ambulance and Gulf Breeze Hospital for their compassionate care. We would also like to express our gratitude to the many friends who have offered support and prayers. If preferred, contributions may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church in her honor.
