In Loving Memory of Gentry Scott Morehead May 6, 1964 – March 26, 2025

Gentry Scott Morehead, age 60, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most.

Born on May 6, 1964, in Pensacola, Florida, Scott was a proud resident of the Gulf Breeze community. He attended Gulf Breeze schools, where he forged friendships and values that stayed with him throughout his life.

Scott built a life rooted in hard work, love, and a deep connection to his family and the land. As a skilled heavy equipment operator and dedicated land manager, he took great pride in shaping and preserving the outdoors, always striving to leave things better than he found them. Whether he was restoring a piece of property or simply walking the woods, Scott’s hands and heart were always busy tending to the world around him.

A true outdoorsman, Scott found his greatest joys hunting, fishing, and spending quiet mornings in the woods with family and friends and his beloved hound dogs by his side. Those who knew him knew the bond he shared with his dogs—it was a partnership built on trust, patience, and love.

But above all, Scott was a family man. He was a loving and devoted husband to Minta ‘Dina’ Morehead, and a proud father to Jean Pacansky and her husband Jeff, and to Joe Morehead and his wife Lindsey. He cherished every moment spent with his family, whether gathered around a fire, working the land, or simply swapping stories on a front porch swing.

He is also survived by his loving sisters, Leanna Sanders and Yvette Bennett, and his brother, Coulson. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Emily and Jim, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.

Scott will be remembered for his steady, caring spirit, his unwavering work ethic, and his ability to find peace and purpose in the natural world. His presence was calming, his laughter infectious, and his love for his family and the outdoors unmatched.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to honor Scott’s legacy and the many lives he touched.

In the stillness of the woods and the bay breeze through the pines, Scott’s spirit will always be near.
