Frank J. Shanahan of Navarre, FL passed away Friday, August 9th, of unexpected natural causes at the age of 53. Frank was out of the country at the time of his passing. Frank was born June 24, 1960 in Chapel Hill, NC to parents James L. and Anne Shanahan. He graduated from Lejeune High School in 1979. He joined the United States Air Force in 1981 and spent 27 years loyally serving his country. The last 11 years of his service were spent as a Sensor Operator with the 16th SOS based out of Hurlburt Field, FL. He did 14 tours post 9-11 before retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant in June 2008. Frank spent the next five years of his life in continued service to his country as a DOD contract employee with AirScan, Inc. and CSG Solutions. Frank is survived by his wife, Katherine Shanahan, his two adult children, Colleen Daniels and James Shanahan, and his parents. Services are set for Tuesday, August 20th, at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, FL. Public visitation begins at 1:00 PM, with a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, followed by Full Military Honors.
