Frank Giaimo

February 8, 1929 — August 25, 2017

Frank J. Giaimo passed away at his Florida home, The Beacon, in the early morning hours of August 25, 2017 .After many years of battling heart and kidney disease, Frank joined his wife, Theresa, his son, Stephen and his youngest daughter, Eileen, in eternal rest.

Although Frank was living in Gulf Breeze, Florida for the past 7 years, he was a native New Yorker. After he married his wife, the former Theresa Fitzpatrick, in 1956, they moved to Denville, New Jersey in 1964. Cedar Lake was their beloved home for many years as they enjoyed the beauty of the lake and the town and their wonderful lake friends.

Frank was a former sanitation worker for the City of New York and a carpenter employed by Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey. He also volunteered or held a second job for most of his working years. Frank drove school buses, was a police officer for the Denville Police Department, served as an usher for St. Mary's Parish in Denville, New Jersey, and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus organization, where he was a Fourth Degree Knight.

As the son of Italian immigrants, Frank was the youngest of five siblings and a dedicated son to his mother after his father died. He was a wonderful Italian cook preparing many holiday meals for his family and volunteering his time to cook at events at The Cedar Lake Community Clubhouse.

His last years were spent among new friends at the Beacon, following his favorite team, The New York Yankees, watching war movies and westerns on his big screen tv and attending local baseball and hockey games. He adored his three granddaughters and looked forward to holidays and special parties to enjoy their company.

Frank leaves behind his daughter, Lisa and son-in-law, Larry Fahy, their two children, Kasha and Kellie and his third granddaughter, Allyson Caprio of Bellingham, Washington.
He also had many nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws that he dearly loved.

The family of Frank Giaimo wishes to thank the staff and residents of The Beacon, especially the Pardonner family, Beacon nurse Tony Cochenour, Emerald Coast Hospice and Fresenius Dialysis Center for their kindness and friendship.

A funeral service will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Florida on Friday, September 1, 2017. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by the service at 5:00 PM.
