Frank F. Davis, 87, of Navarre, FL, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Frank served in the US Navy as a Naval Aviator in WWII. He was stationed at Kaneone Naval Air Station in Hawaii and was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attacks. Frank was a proud member of the Silver Eagles Association of WWII enlisted pilots. In 1948, Frank began a 37 year career with Gulf Power Co., retiring in 1985. Upon retirement, he found enjoyment in woodworking. He created unique toys and furniture for children and local daycare centers and shared his talent at numerous area craft shows. Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years, June Davis; his son John Michael Davis and wife Patty; his daughter Carol Freeman and husband Gene; his sister Jackie Kendrick; his granddaughter Ayla Freeman; his grandson Geoffrey Freeman, and numerous other relatives and long-time friends. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff and residents of Gulf Breeze Courtyard for their daily love and care for Frank. We also thank the staff of Gulf Breeze Hospital and Covenant Hospice for keeping Frank comfortable during his last days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Frank Davis' memory to the Naval Aviation Museum, 1750 Radford Boulevard, Suite E, Pensacola, FL 32508. A Graveside Service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, July 26.
