Florence Winstanley passed away on July 24, 2021. She was a resident at The Beacon of Gulf Breeze for the past 12 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Ann Winstanley of Detroit, Michigan, and her sister, Beverly Hammond of Palm Coast, Florida. Florence was born in Detroit, Michigan, and a graduate of St. Anthony High School.
She worked in the Human Resources Department at General Motors until her retirement. Florence never married. She had numerous golfing friends, travel friends, and friends
from Michigan who also settled in NW Florida. She and her sister, Beverly, were members of the upscale travel club, The Nomads, based in Detroit. They traveled extensively, and many trips were international. While enjoying many trips to play golf, she and her sister came to NW Florida and fell in love with the area and the climate. She built a home in Gulf Breeze and lived there until she moved to The Beacon. She attended St. Sylvester Catholic Church. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
