Farrell J. Allen, 83, of Gulf Breeze, FL died Friday, November 25, 2011 at 12:15 am at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. He is survived by his wife of 56 years; Betty Allen, his children; Robin Allen (Dan Noel) of Champaign, IL, Scott (Sherry) Allen of Gulf Breeze, FL, his grandchildren; Rachel and Catherine Swindle of Champaign, IL, Peyton, Grace, and Zach Allen of Gulf Breeze, FL, his brothers and sisters; Jack Allen of Tuscaloosa, AL, Marce (Peggy) Allen of Flomaton, AL, Marlin (Dorothy) Allen of Tuscaloosa, AL, Marvelene (Donald) Rinehart of Tuscaloosa, AL, Barbara Allen of Tuscaloosa, AL, Josh (Mondale) Allen of New York City, NY, and Betty (Marcos) Costilla of Roanoke, TX. Farrell J. Allen was born on November 14, 1928 in Oneonta, AL to William J. and Velma Lou Allen. Farrell was an Air Born Ranger during the Korean Conflict and later used his GI benefits to attend the University of Alabama where he met his wife Betty. After receiving his degree in accounting, he and Betty moved to Pensacola, FL where Farrell worked at Chemstrand/Monsanto for 39 years. Service for Farrell J. Allen will be held at St. Francis of Assisi beginning at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 with a reception to follow at the parish hall. Graveside services will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery at 1:00 pm on November 29, 2011.
