Ethel Romaine (Hoffman) Fauth, age 89, went home peacefully to be with the Lord Thursday, August 28, 2008 in Oakbridge Terrace at Azalea Trace. She moved to the Pensacola area 15 years ago to marry her childhood sweetheart, Jacob W. Fauth. She was born on December 5, 1918, in Springvale, Pennsylvania to Charles and Anna (Smeltzer) Hoffman and resided in York, PA most of her life. She retired after many years as Head Cook at Valley View Elementary School. Ethel was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in York and St. Luke United Methodist Church in Pensacola. She was a life member of VFW Post #556 and the Victory Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary of York as well as a member of the York County Racing Club. In their years together, Ethel and Jake enjoyed traveling throughout the country visiting interesting places, family and friends. Ethel is survived by her husband, Jacob Fauth, her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Paul Miller of York, two stepdaughters, Joy Beasley of Pensacola, Sandy Brandt and husband, Michael, of Minnetonka, MN, and a stepson, David Fauth and wife, Phannee, of Valparaiso, FL. Grandchildren include Todd and wife, Laurie, step-grandchildren Joel Fauth and wife, Christi, Jackie Fauth, Erin Brandt and husband, Dave Uejio, and David Brandt and wife, Jessica as well as one great-granddaughter, Jade Gindelsperger. Her first husband, Robert Klahold and a brother, Richard Hoffman, precede her in death. A Memorial Service will be held at Azalea Trace Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at 9:30 AM; a private graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date. Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze is responsible for arrangements. Memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola or to a hospice organization in your area. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Covenant Hospice and to the entire staff of Oakbridge Terrace.
