Emma Holmes Ware passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born in Amory, MS August 14, 1931 to the late Jane and Edward Holmes. Emma graduated from Tupelo High School, Tupelo, MS an received her Bachelor's degree from Blue Mountain College, Blue Mountain, MS. Emma was a homemaker at the time of her death. Emma worked for the Federal Government for 25 years. During her tenure with Social Security she received many awards. Emma was one of the five women, nationwide, who were recognized as "Women on the move". Emma supported many charities, along with donations to Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church of which she was a member. She was loved by many people who will remember and miss her. She is survived by her husband James (Jim) Ware, Jr., sisters Dolores Burton and Eddie Jean Holmes. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carolyn (Dave) Benson; niece Carla (Tom) March; nephews Mike (Laurie) Burton and Ed (Julie) Burton; extended family Casey and Vicky Jones, Jay and Mary Boyd Click, David and Diane Caper and special family friends, Mary Jean Miller, Jayne Neal, Samuel and Nita Lee. A funeral service will be held at Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Jerry Blacklaw officiating, with visitation immediately following the service. Interment will be Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Duluth Cemetery, Duluth, Georgia at 11:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Emma's name to Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church, PO Box 130, Gulf Breeze, FL 32562-0130 The family would like to thank Gulf Breeze Baptist Hospital and Joyce Goldenberg Covenant Hospice for their compassionate care provided Emma.
