Elizabeth Hurd

Elizabeth Ann (Kell) Hurd age 70, of Gulf Breeze, FL died Friday, Dec 26, 2008 at Gulf Breeze Hospital. Ann was born December 2, 1938 in Pensacola, FL. She is a direct descendant of Marianna Bonifay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Hurd, Sr. (who died just 9 months earlier), grandson, Adam Castleberry 16 of Pensacola, FL, her parents, Clarence R. Kell and Inez Bonifay Kell of Pensacola, FL. She is survived by her children sons Donald Jr. (Leah), Kelly Hurd (Connie), Gene Hurd (Amanda), Erin Hurd (Paige) all of Gulf Breeze; two daughters, Donna (Hurd) Scherer and husband Craig, of Woodstock, GA and Natalie Hurd of Gulf Breeze, fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Clarice Kell, Gulf Breeze and Joyce Kell Retherford and husband, Roush, Gulf Breeze and many relatives throughout Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, FL. Ann lived in Gulf Breeze for the last 40 yrs. She was a former employee of, "The Sentinel" and "The Islander" newspapers. She was an avid lover of antiques, estate sales, garage sales and particularly of "old papers". She was an expert eBay seller and had been called upon on many occasions for her expertise and also to help people put a value on their "treasures". She was former owner of the "The Junque Barn", a business her mother started and she continued for a number of years. Services will be held Friday January 2, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Rose Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service begins. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the Emerald Coast Hospice and/or the American Cancer Society.
