Elda Soenksen

Elda "Loraine" Soenksen 1913 - 2010 Elda Loraine Soenksen, age 97, fied on Tuesdy, July 13, 2010 at Bay Breeze Nursing Home in Gulf Breeze, FL. Born on May 17, 1913 to Jasper and Ida Mae McNeil in Maplesville, AL. Loriaine resided in Gulf Breeze, FL for the last 35 years. She joined Will Soenksen in holy matrimony on September 21, 1941 after a whirlwind seven day courtship. They were married 51 yearsuntil William's death in 1993. Loraine was emplyed by Kirvin's Department Store in Columbus, GA as a corsetiere for over 20 years and was a member of Gulf Breeze Presyterian Church. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Edward, and her husband William. She is survived by her only child and devoted daughter, Sandra Corcoran (Rusty); a grandson, Shawn Corcoran (Jeanie); three grandaughters, Shannon Higgins (Gary, Shay Bessemer (Bill), and Kimberly Lloyd (Jerry); as well as ten great grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Loraine's life. Visitation will begin at 9:00am and the service, officiated by Dr. Jerry Blacklaw, will follow at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home. Heart filled thanks from the family go to the staff at Bay Breeze Nursing Home. A very speciala thanks to her CNA, Jonathan.
