Edward Harvey Provost was born in Rhode Island, March of 1956. One month before his 64th birthday, Edward passed away at Gulf Breeze Hospital surrounded by his family. For 20 years Ed took great pride in bringing joy to everyone while portraying Santa Claus in both New England and Florida. For over 10 years he was a devoted Master Mason at the Friendship Lodge, all while selflessly serving his community as a volunteer firefighter, EMT and President of the South Foster Fire Company in Rhode Island. He worked his entire life in transportation, first in the trucking industry and then continued by driving buses for the Gulf Breeze School District. He later found his passion when working with the students in the Exceptional Community. Loving every minute of driving bus with the exceptional students, he continued his love for community by coaching the Red Sox team for the Miracle League and participated in the Night to Shine Prom for the Exceptional Community in Gulf Breeze.
To know Ed was to understand the true meaning of humble and kind, to see the warmth in his smile, to hear his words of encouragement, to feel his endless love, to witness the pride and honor in everything he did, and to hear the laughter of those he talked to.
To all of his many friends in new England and Florida, remember the love he had for you all and the memories you shared.
