Edgar "Ed" B Macleod 1929 - 2010 Ed MacLeod of Gulf Breeze passed away November 23 2010, surrounded by his his loving family Ed ascended to his beloved heavenly father. Ed was born in Cambridge Massachusetts of William and Pearl MacLeod of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Ed joined the military in the late 1940s. His service in the Army included two tours inSouth Korea and one tour in South Vietnam. While stationed at Tonsanute Air Base in South Vietnam, Ed was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery during the Tet Offensive. After 24 years of service, Ed retired from the Army and relocated his family to Gulf Breeze in 1971. Ed worked as a meat cutter for several local grocery chains until retiring in 1990. After retiring, Ed volunteered periodically at the Gulf Breeze hospital where his smile and humor lifted the spirits of staff and patients alike. Ed loved to work in his yard, developing endless projects in order to keep himself active. He loved his family and was a devout Catholic who was dedicated to his God and country. Ed is preceded in death by his bother Bill. Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia MacLeod; his two daughters Kathy and Susan; his sons Brian and Stephen; his sisters Gloria, Joan, Shirley and Maxine, and his step brother Richard. Known for his "Ed-isms," Ed would like everyone to know "everything is hunky dory and play it cool in the motor-pool." In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity on his behalf. Services will be at the St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Navarre at 11:00 AM Tuesday with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with Military Honors.
