Dr. Baldwin

June 22, 1929 — December 20, 2014

Dr. Donald J. Baldwin returned to his Heavenly Father on December 20, 2014. In his home in Gulf Breeze, Florida, surrounded by his family, he left this earth losing his battle with multiple myeloma. Don was born in Afton Wyoming on June 22, 1929, to Parley and Stella Baldwin. He attended the University of Wyoming and BYU and in 1951, he entered the Navy and trained in Pensacola as a naval aviation cadet. He flew the F2H-3 jet off the Midway in the Korean War. In 1953 he married the love of his life Kathryn Snowden Baldwin and they shared a wonderful life for 61 years. Upon leaving the Navy, Don received his DMD from the University of Alabama and was the first dentist to practice in Gulf Breeze. He loved his patients and practiced dentistry until he was 79 years old. Don used his practice as an avenue for his ministry. He shared the love of Jesus Christ with all that came through his office doors. He was involved in his community and was a Rotarian and received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had two daughters, Kaye Foster and Lyn Bailey, five grandchildren, five great-grandsons with a sixth to be born in March and many others that he claimed as his own. Don served in the Community of Christ Church. He pastored and mentored many in his different roles. He served as Patriach Evangelist and offered ministry to so many. He was a humble servant, giving of himself until the very end. His love and ministry will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Parley P. and Stella Baldwin. His wife's parents Robert Comby and Necie Belle Snowden, his brothers and sisters Parley Baldwin, Jesse Baldwin, Blanche Gardner, Oliver Baldwin, Luther Baldwin, Ruby Christensen, Douglas Baldwin, Sol Baldwin, Melvin Baldwin, Nellie Averett and Dick Baldwin. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Snowden Baldwin, his daughters Kaye Foster and her husband Patrick, Lyn Bailey and her fiancé Patrice Brunet, five grandchildren Rachel Bassing, Sarah Doerr, Scottie Bailey, Candace Bailey and Caroline Bailey, five great-grandsons two sisters Helen Dickie and Moine Peterson and many nieces and nephews.
