Douglas Jenkins

Douglas Jenkins, age 46, passed away peacefully and entered into Eternal Life December 28, 2009 at 6:15 a.m. He was born into a Navy family September 12, 1963 in Brunswick, Georgia. After living in various cities around the United States his family settled in Gulf breeze in 1976. He graduated from Gulf Breeze High School in 1981 and later joined the Navy where he served aboard the nuclear fast attack submarine USS Buffalo (SSN 715). He loved fishing, water sports and animals of all kinds (especially cats). Doug is preceded in death by his grandparents Edris and Onie Lee Jenkins, Glen and Clara Hanson, Aunt Jan and cousin Ronnie Beyea. He is survived by his parents Wendal and Rose Jenkins, Brother Scott Jenkins, Aunt and Uncle Sylvia and Mike Jenkins, Uncle Ron Beyea, cousins Joe Jenkins and Matt Beyea. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 31 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. with services at 12:00. Father Paul Lambert of St. Ann Church will officiate. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2001 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, FL 32501.
