Doss Haygood

Doss Louis Haygood, 54, of Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024.  He was born in Texas City, TX on December 5, 1969.

At an early age, he was always interested in the Navy's military fighter jets and would visit and tour the aircraft carriers whenever they came into the Galveston or Houston, TX Ports.  He was recruited before he graduated from Ball High School in Galveston, Texas and he began serving his Country after graduation.  He had several deployments in the Gulf as part of the USS Nimitz and USS Constellation Fleets during Desert Storm and other conflicts.  He retired after 20 years of service as an E6 - First Class Petty Officer but remained in the job he loved at the Pensacola Naval Air Base until his death.

Doss is survived by his children, Jared and Raina Haygood and his children's mother, Kristine Haygood all of Gulf Breeze, TX, his father Melvyn Haygood and his wife, Marilyn Haygood of Texas City, TX, his mother Ann Haygood and husband, Valentine Martinez of Clear Lake, TX, his brother, Darrin Haygood and his wife, Colleen of Dickinson, TX, his sister, D'Lisa Haygood of Galveston, TX, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

Graveside services with honors will be 10 am, Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL .
