Dorothy Morgan

November 16, 1919 — July 11, 2017

Dorothy (Dot) Skinner Morgan, a long-time resident of Pensacola Beach and Gulf Breeze, died July 11, 2017 after a long, happy life. She was the wife of Dr. James P. Morgan, noted coastal geologist and environmental preservationist, who died in 1995. Dot was active in several local groups, including the Driftwood Garden Club and Gulf Breeze Hospital Auxiliary and was a long- time member of the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons and their wives: Jim and Kathy of Afton, VA, Dave and Beth of Baton Rouge, LA and Mike and Kathy of Missouri City, TX. She has six loving grandchildren and their spouses: Amanda (Karen), Jim (Chloe), Joel (Heidi), Marshall (Margaret), Patricia and Matt. Late in life she was blessed with three great grandkids: Goldie, Connor and Dorian.
A memorial celebration will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2017 in the chapel of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.
Donations in memory of Dot will be gratefully accepted by the church.
