Dorothy J. "Coot" Fleming 1927 - 2011 Dorothy "Coot" Fleming passed away on February 24, 2011. She was born on October 19th, 1927 in Weston, WV to Cisco Jackson and Dorothy Helen Keister. She grew up in the hills of West Virginia and she was very proud to have been a direct descendant of "Stonewall" Jackson. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, George Arnold Fleming for 64 years. Together they traveled most of the United States beginning in Arlington, VA where she worked for the National Security Agency specializing in Russian Intelligence. They moved later to Montana, Wisconsin and finally Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving sister Betty Claire Koon. She is survived by her husband George A. Fleming, her daughter Polly May Myers and her granddaughter Katherine Claire May of Los Angeles, CA. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to caregiver Kimberly "Catfish" Griffith for her loving care and devoted friend Phil Hoblit, and all of her wonderful friends for visits and calls. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Bay Breeze Nursing Home from the housekeepers to the doctors, they are great. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her name to the Escambia County Animal Shelter, former home of her dog and loyal companion Murphy.
