Doris Ayres

October 26, 1945 — May 21, 2015

Doris June (Hoffmaster) Ayres passed to her eternal rest on May 21, 2015. Born October 26, 1945 in Reading, PA to George and Virginia (Magennis) Hoffmaster, she moved at a young age to Pensacola, FL. June was the beloved wife of Lieutenant General Raymond Paul Ayres, Jr. USMC (Ret.) for nearly forty-eight years. She was a proud and loving mother and grandmother of her sons Raymond III and David; her daughters-in-law Michelle and Lana; and her grandchildren Nathen, Raymond IV, and Taylor. She loved all animals, especially her cats. They all sensed her caring and responded to it. June always had a quick smile for everyone and a beautiful sense of humor. Her warm and giving nature will be missed by many. Visitation will occur from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, 25 May (Memorial Day) at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, 26 May at 10:00 A.M. Burial will take place at 11:45 A.M. at Barrancas National Cemetery aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL. A reception will immediately follow at the Officers' Club. In lieu of flowers June's family requests that you make a donation to your local animal shelter or other charitable organization.
