Donna Shumway

Donna Margaret Shumway, age 63, passed away September 13, 2015 at her residence. Donna lived a full and wonderful life. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Richard and Eleanor Cohen. She raised two wonderful children before marrying her husband Dave. Donna was very accomplished; she obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees while taking care of her family and she became the Director of Health Information Management at Pensacola State College in August 2000. In May of this year she was inducted into the Pensacola State College Academy of Teaching Excellence, a tribute to her dedicated work to her students. She loved her colleagues at PSC especially Dale Brewer, Donna Flynn, and Donna Soto all of whom have been so supportive. Donna enjoyed being in her beautiful home, playing computer games, cooking, watching movies and playing with her cats. Predeceased by her parents, she leaves behind husband Dave Shumway, daughter Kelly Carpenter, and son Thomas Carpenter. She is also survived by sisters Jeanne Davis (Miguel), Laurel, MD, Dianne George (Don), Cocoa, FL as well as brothers Richard Cohen, Viera, FL and Don Cohen, Cape Canaveral, FL. Visitation and services will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Gulf Breeze on Friday, September 18, 2015 with visitation at 12:00 PM and services at 1:00 PM with Father James Grebe of Saint Ann's Catholic Church officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
