Donna Dotson

Donna Marie Dotson, 64, born April 9, 1945 passed away May 29, 2009 to be with her late husband Leonard Dotson Sr. on what would have been their 45th Wedding Anniversary, following her courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. Donna was born in Pitman, NJ where she resided until she met her late husband. She moved to her hometown of Pemberton, NJ in 1971, only to retire to the great state of Florida (Gulf Breeze) in 1995. She is survived by her two children Debbie Dotson from Gulf Breeze FL and Leonard Dotson, Jr. and wife Shari from Pemberton NJ. She had eight grand children; Corinne, Ryan, Justin, Miranda, Erin, Lynee', Jacob, Larissa, and one great-grandson, Ethan. Donna actively participated in the American Cancer Society Gulf Breeze Relay for Life where she was the Honorary Chairwoman for 2009. She belonged to the; Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge (Ladies of the Elks), Pensacola Beach Boat Club, Gulf Breeze Methodist Church, and volunteered for the Interfaith Missions. She enjoyed Bands on the beach, Concerts in the Park at Seville, Country Dancing, the Beach, and an avid Blue Angle Fan. When time was short Donna had the support of these organizations and friends who surrounded her and her family in the end. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge #497 for the Relay for Life in Donna Dotson's name. Friends can call on Donna at the Rose Lawn Funeral Home located at 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, Florida. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 at 3:30 PM with funeral services to begin at 5 PM. Donna's ashes will be placed next to her devoted late husband Retired Senior Master Sergeant Leonard S. Dotson, Sr. (Len, Lenny, Honey Poo, Dad, Pop- Pop, & Loopin Lenny #9) at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
