Donna Joan Criswell, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away peacefully at The Haven, Our Lady of Peace on May 30th in the Year of our Lord 2017. Donna Joan was 82.
Born in Springfield, Missouri to the late Otis and Bernice Letterman ...and preceded in death by sister Faye Dean Rice of Springfield and also preceded in death by daughter Clarissa Sue Criswell of Gulf Breeze, and son Chief Warrant Officer William Roy Criswell. Donna is survived by sisters Carolyn Hitchcock of Oklahoma City, Sarah Teifke of Nixa, Missouri, brother Pete Letterman of Nixa, Missouri, sister-in-law Glee Letterman and brothers-in-law, Dale Hitchcock of Oklahoma City, and Tom Teifke of Nixa, Missouri. All great and true friends.
Married for over 57 years to the late Colonel Joe William Criswell also born in Springfield, Donna is also survived by daughters Tommie Lynn Richardson of Lakeland, Florida, Kelly Ann Green of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Dana Jo Roth of Pensacola Beach, Florida, and sons-in-law Dr. Charles Roth of Pensacola Beach, and Richard Green of Gulf Breeze. Grandchildren include Jonah, Tom, Hannah, Nicklaus and great-grandchildren Roman and Willow.
Donna was the wife of an officer and pilot...sharing in dedication to service. She was a member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. Her endeavors include a partnership in Business and Industry Training Systems with daughter Kelly Green. She was a member of the Officers Wives' Gourmet Cooking Club, Warner Robins, Georgia and business partner of the Village Friar, Restaurant, Pickerington, Ohio with the late Sue Hoover, a lifelong friend. Donna received her letters from Auburn University, and was an author and debater. Donna will most be remembered for her commitment and sacrifice to family and friends for which she will be honored.
A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 PM, Monday June 12, 2017 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home with Chaplain David Stocker officiating. Visitation with the family will begin 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery/ Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida where she will join her late husband and son.
