Dimitrios Fournaris

Mr. Dimitrios 'Jim' Fournaris, or more commonly known as Mr. Jimmy died at midnight Sunday evening April 13, 2009 at his residence on Southern Court in Gulf Breeze, FL. Mr. Jimmy was 74 years old and lived in Gulf Breeze since the early 80's. He is known and remembered in the Pensacola/Gulf Breeze area as one of the brothers that established the original Fournaris Brothers Restaurant in 1980 that was located on the corner of 9th Ave & Cervantes. Mr. Jimmy is survived by his wife Niki and his two sons Bill & John. Mr. Jimmy is also survived by his two brothers Angelo and Spiro Fournaris who currently reside in Canada with their families. Niki, Bill, & John Fournaris still continue Mr Jimmy's dream of having a good authentic Greek Restaurant by operating Niki's Restaurant in the City of Gulf Breeze. For over 29 years he enjoyed making people happy by providing a fabulous product for a reasonable price. Mr Jimmy's other passion was playing Greek music with his Greek Band - his instrument of choice was the Bouzouki which is currently displayed in Niki's Restaurant. A time of visitation will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze, on Sunday, April 19th from 5:00 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church on Garden Street in Pensacola at 11:00 AM Monday, April 20th. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. In lieu of flower donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1720 West Garden Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.
