Denny James

Denny R James age 72 of Gulf Breeze, FL died on November 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Denny was originally from Elkview, WV.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Martha Evelyn James of Gulf Breeze, FL, daughter Dena Smith (Steve Smith) of Gulf Breeze, grandsons, Garrison and Griffen Smith, brother Herb James (Carol James) of Blue Creek, WV, sister Janieve Pringle of Cross Lanes, WV and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton and Nora James of Elkview, WV, Brother, Eddie James of Spencer, WV, Brother, Jim Yoak of Elkview, WV and James Yoak of Elkview, WV.
Denny was a Vietnam Veteran who served from 1969 to 1970 in the Army. He earned the National Defense Medal, Military Merit Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of Jordan Mound Gospel Tabernacle Church located in Elkview, WV.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved his dogs, Molly and Dixie.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support, the doctors and nurses at Sacred Heart Medical Center and Covenant Hospice Care.

There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze, from 10 to 11:00 AM. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM after which he will be entombed in the Rose Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Wounded Warrior's Fund in Denny's honor @woundedwarriorproject.org
