Denise Biggs

Denise Marie ‘Momma' Biggs ruled the roost for many of us here in Gulf Breeze. She went to be with the love of her life, William "Billy" Forrest Biggs Sr., on Saturday, March 31, 2018.

She served as Facility Coordinator for the City of Gulf Breeze Recreation Center for 20 years. Whether you were a summer camp kid or came into the recreation center to play basketball or register for sports, you came in contact with Denise. She helped many people with their troubles. You could always count on her to help you out of a jam.

She was born in Norwich, New York, August 20, 1957, but lived in Gulf Breeze her entire life. That is how her love for the water and sea turtles began.

She loved her family, friends, days on the boat, the Blue Angels, family vacations, golf cart travels, shopping, sea turtles and most of all the other love of her life, her grandson, Rowan James O'Leary.

She taught her children and those other children she came in contact with to love and cherish family and friends. She supported and encouraged her children to pursue whatever made them happy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard "Dick" Willoughby and Edith Rhodes Willoughby; the love her life her husband, William "Billy" Forrest Biggs Sr.; her brother-in-law, Ed Myers; and her niece, Ashley Solice.

Denise leaves her daughter, Chelsie Biggs O'Leary; her husband, Matthew O'Leary; and her pride and joy, her grandson, Rowan James O'Leary. Denise also leaves her son, William Forrest Biggs, Jr.; his wife, Stephanie Biggs; and their son, Patrick. She leaves two sisters-in-law, Sharon Biggs Mosley; her husband, Al; and children, Brittany Ortega and Kyle Mosley; as well as, Janet Biggs Myers and her daughters, Kristin Myers-Watts and Amanda Myers; and seven great nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Janet Myers, Kristin Myers-Watts, Kim Marsh, Sandra Thomas, and the staff of Gulf Breeze Hospital for their endless support.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Denise to the Gulf Breeze Sports Association. There will be a memorial dedicated in Denise's honor at the splash pad being created for the children of the recreation center.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 6, 2018 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze. Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to service. A celebration of Denise's life will be held at the Gulf Breeze Community Center at 4:00 p.m.
