Deanna Colangelo

Surrounded by the love of her immediate family and extensive circle of friends Deanna Louise (Fletcher) Colangelo (age 50) of Gulf Breeze, Fl passed peacefully after a long and brave battle with colorectal cancer on March 25th, 2022 at Baptist Hospital. With husband and soulmate, Brian, and children Thomas (20) and Gabie (14) by her side, Deanna was a force of nature who faced her medical challenges head on, with dignity and the determination to live her life to the fullest.  More than a wonderful wife and partner to Brian and an amazing mom to her kids, Deanna was a precious daughter, an adored sister, a loyal best friend, a favorite aunt, a dedicated member of Community Life Church, a beloved teacher at Oriole Beach Elementary School, and a protective bonus mom to her other “kids.”   In essence, Deanna was an unconditional support system for anyone in need. Her incredible humility, kindness, grace, and compassion are her legacy; one she passes down to her remarkable children. As someone who cherished and valued her role as an educator at both Gulf Breeze and Wilton Center, Deanna is now an angel, always reminding her students to “do your homework.”  Deanna leaves behind a lifetime of incredible memories for her parents Cecil and Maryann Fletcher; Sister Deborah (Chris) Matheny, nephew Grant, niece Jillian; in-laws Dan, Jan, and Lisa Colangelo and all those whose lives she touched and were fortunate enough to have shared a laugh, a prayer, and a hug with her.

All are welcome to celebrate Deanna's life on April 21, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at Community Life Church, 4115 Soundside Drive, Gulf Breeze FL.  A reception will immediately follow.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Oriole Beach Elementary School.
